As of August 4, Ukraine has officially resumed vessel traffic through the Bystre Canal in the Danube Delta. Ships with a draft of up to 4.5 meters are now allowed to pass. This is a significant step toward expanding export logistics and increasing the capacity of Ukrainian Danube ports during wartime.
The Bystre Canal provides an alternative route to the Black Sea and reduces dependency on Romania’s Sulina Canal, where restrictions and congestion remain.
